The funeral of the Convener of the National Movement for Good Governance and Chief Incumbent of Kotte Sri Naga Viharaya Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera will be held on Thursday afternoon at the Parliament Grounds, local media reported. Sobitha Thera passed away early this morning in Singapore while undergoing medical treatment. He was flown to Singapore early this month to be treated for complications arising from a by-pass surgery. The body was handed over to the Buddhist clergy and the government following religious rights at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore. Minister Ravi Karunanayake represented Sri Lankan government at the occasion.
