Speaker Karu Jayasuriya today (21) announced that forensic audit report of the Central Bank bond issue will be tabled in Parliament so that all MPs will have access to it.
Making his announcement at the commencement of today's sittings, the Speaker noted that a large number of MPs had made a request to him to release the report. Party leaders had also made the same request.
He said that since a large amount of state funds had been spent to compile the forensic audit report and since Parliament has complete powers over public finances, he feels that it was prudent to make the report available to all Parliamentarians rather than only those who are members of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).
