Cabinet approval has been granted to set-up a state body in order to handle administrative activities of the Lotus Tower project.
According to a cabinet paper submitted by the President in his capacity as Defence Minister, the authority of setting up the administrative body would be vested with the Treasury.
The objective of establishing the body is to expedite construction of the tower and commence commercial activities.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
