Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan, Kentaro SONOURA, M. P. is set to arrive in the country today for a two -day visit and will hold meetings with Sri Lankan government leaders to further promote bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to a statement Mr. Sonoura will also participate in the closing ceremony of Oil Spill Incident Management Training of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard under the Grant Aid of Government of Japan, to be held on February 15 at the Colombo Port.
Further the envoy is expected to attend the Japan-Sri Lanka Navy to Navy staff talks to be held for the first time.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
