A special religious ceremony was held at the Agunukolapelassa prison yesterday (Dec 31) night to invoke blessings on inmates and the people of this country.
The ceremony was organised by inmates who were sentenced to death and were serving life imprisonment sentences.
A special feature of this ceremony is that it was held on top of the observation tower in which the inmates had protested in the recent past.
The motive of the ceremony was to strengthen the mental well-being of the inmates.
