Students demand teachers for school

News

Students of the Kovilkunchchukulam in Settikulam, Vavuniya held a protest yesterday in front of their school demanding solutions to the severe dearth of teachers at the school. 

The students stated that their academic activities have been severely affected by the lack of teachers for key subjects and that numerous appeals to education authorities had fallen on deaf ears. 

Parents as well as other teachers at the school also joined in the protest and voiced support for the students' demands. 

Meanwhile, Settikulam education officials, who visited the location, promised to brief the Northern Province Education Ministry regarding problems at the school.
