Three individuals were arrested by the CID at the Bandaranaike International Airport for possessing illegal Algerian visas.
According to the police, the individuals had attempted to travel to Algeria via Qatar.
The suspects have been identified as residents of Point Pedro, Mannar and Wattala and are to be produced before the Meegamuwa Magistrate's Court.
Meanwhile two individuals who are alleged to have aided and abetted the proceedure of obtaining the illegal visa have also been arrested by the CID.
