A 12-year-old school student was killed and two others were injured when a three-wheeler knocked the motorcycle they were riding on down the Ranna-Hugama road, Hugama Police said.
The father of the deceased child had been heading from school on the motorcycle along with his son and daughter when the three-wheeler knocked them from behind and fled.
Critically injured father and daughter had been admitted to the Tangalle Base Hospital, police said.
Hugama Police are conducting investigations in search of the three-wheeler and its driver.
