Tissa Attanayake remanded

Former United National Party (UNP) General Secretary Tissa Attanayake was today remanded by the Colombo High Court till December 5 in connection with a case involving alleged forged documents. 

The charges stem from alleged forged documents which Mr. Attanayake had displayed to the media and the public during the last presidential election. 

Attanayake resigned as UNP General Secretary and crossed over to the then Government of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa during the final days of the election.
