The Treasury has issued a Rs 11 billion worth treasury bond for the purchase of coal during the next six months, Minister Ravi Karunanayake said today (Aug 19).
The Power and Energy Minister stated that these funds would be used to purchase coal to prevent power disruptions during the forthcoming months.
A proposal to obtain the treasury bond had been put forward by Mr. Karunanayake to the Treasury.
