Two arrested with firearms

Two suspects have been arrested by police in Hikkaduwa for allegedly possessing two locally made firearms and three live bullets. 

The arrests were made last afternoon near the Arachchikanda Hospital in Hikkaduwa. The suspects, aged 24 and 26 years, are residents of Ambalangoda. Police further said the suspects had links to several crimes committed in Ambalangoda, Meetiyagoda and Baddegama. 

They are due to be produced before the Galle Magistrate's Court today. Hikkaduwa Police are investigating.
