Two inmates who were imprisoned over narcotic-related offences have escaped from the Badulla Prison yesterday (Jun 20).
One suspect aged 37 had been sentenced to two years of imprisonment after being convicted for the possession of 20 milligrams of heroin.
The other, a 19-year old was serving a one year term after being found guilty for possessing 480 milligrams of heroin.
The Prisons Department and the Badulla Police have launched separate operations to locate the suspects.
