Two persons who were arrested in Maligawatte with foreign currency notes worth Rs 8.8 million have been remanded until July 17, police said.
According to the police, the arrest had been carried out while they were stopped in their vehicle at a roadblock.
The suspects were apprehended after they had made contrasting statements upon questioning, police noted.
They had then been produced before the Colombo Magistrate's court today (Jul 14).
