Sri Lanka's former ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga, will be produced before the Colombo Magistrate's Court later today.
He was arrested at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) this morning after detectives recorded a statement from him.
Mr Weeratunga had an international warrant out for his arrest with regard to investigations into the MiG deal and had been extradicted from Dubai yesterday.
