The working committee of the United National Party has decided yesterday (June 19) to grant electoral organiser positions to five SLFP MPs that are looking to supporting the government.
It is reported that this decision has been taken in view of the immense commitment the MPs have made to support the government.
The working committee held discussions at Sirikotha at a meeting presided by UNP leader Ranil WIckremesinghe.
It was discussed at length about the future affairs of the party and it was decided to remove the weak electoral organizers and appoint new ones. Accordingly the party leader, Chairman and General Secretary have been asked to make recommendations regarding the newly appointed electoral organizers.
Meanwhile, the working committee has decided to appoint MP Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa as the Katana electorate organiser and MP Patali Champika Ranawaka as the Maharagama organiser.
