UPFA MP and five others were arrested by the Hambantota police over last week's protests and clashes in the area, police said.
Among others arrested were MPS D.V.Chanaka and Prasanna Ranaweera.
They are due to be produced before a Magistrate. Last Friday clashes broke out when the police tried to control the protest organized by the Joint Opposition.
