Newly-appointed US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alaina Teplitz called on Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to discuss the current political situation in the country.
Ms.Teplitz, taking to her official twitter handle said that she met the Speaker to discuss the vitality of reconvening Parliament in ending the political crisis.
She also said the democratic institutions should serve the people by allowing elected representatives to decide on the government.
