JHU Parliamentarian Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera speaking at a media briefing in Colombo said he agreed with President Maithripala Sirisena for appointing Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Ven. Rathana Thera said that he would pledge his support to the newly sworn Prime Minister.
Venerable Athureliya Rathana Thera, who returned from China where he represented Sri Lanka at an international Buddhist conference met with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s representative who called on him for a two-hour meeting.
Meanwhile, hardly had he left, did three UNP parliamentarians turn up. They were former Ministers Rajitha Senaratne, Daya Gamage and Chathura Senaratne, Gampaha District MP. They were seeking the Ven. Rathana’s support for the UNP.
