Former Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran has said that his party will support a presidential candidate who is capable of resolving the issues faced by the Tamil community.
Vigneswaran, who founded the Tamil Makkal Kootani (TMK), said that he had also turned down a request of being nominated as a presidential candidate.
Further, he said that his party would not nominate a candidate and that they would support a mainstream political party candidate at the elections.
However, the former Northern Chief Minister stated that a decision in this regard would be taken after the presidential elections and its candidates are announced.
