Wholesale traders in Pettah will engage in a hartal campaign today (Feb 05) due to the rising losses caused by the customs strike.
Addressing a media briefing, the Association of Importers and Wholesalers said that their businesses have been badly hit due to the ongoing strike by customs officials.

The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
