MP Wimal Weerawansa yesterday (May 09) objected over the government's decision to prevent journalists from covering search operations.
Speaking in Parliament, MP Weerawansa pointed out that such laws did not exist even during the war.
He also cautioned that the public will believe content which is posted on social media since registered media outlets have not been given the opportunity to provide media coverage on search operations.
Meanwhile, parliamentarian Shehan Semasinghe claimed that yesterday's decision to stop publishing footage of sharp weapons including swords and kris knives was a foiled attempt to bring back students to school by pretending that the situation has returned to normalcy.
