Sri Lanka middle-order batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa's long-awaited return to the national side hangs on a PCR test result, subsequent to coming in close contact with Sandun Weerakkody, who apparently was tested positive for Covid-19.
"He (Bhanuka) will be undergoing a test today (15), and if tested negative, he will be allowed to continue training on Friday (16)," said Daminda Attanayake, Sri Lankan team's doctor.
However, Weerakkody has been confirmed with the Delta Variant and is presently under isolation, after the duo had travelled together to Dambulla for practices.
At least Weerakkody is among enough of casualties, missing the white-ball series against India, set to start on Sunday (18).
