Sri Lanka cricketer Niroshan Dickwella has been found guilty of breaking the anti-doping protocols after he was tested positive for usage of a banned substance during the recently concluded Lanka Premier League (LPL) 5 season.
Dickwella, who led Galle Marvels, the losing finalist of the LPL 5, has been one of the cricketers who underwent random tests conducted by the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA), where he was tested positive for using cocaine, according to sources.
The wicketkeeper/batsman, who had turned out for 54 Tests, 55 ODIs and 28 T20Is, will face a screening test on August 23 at the Sports Science Centre.
Dickwella led Galle Marvels to the final in the franchise’s LPL debut, before going down to Jaffna Kings by 9 wickets in the final.
