Sports Diary for this week - March 12-18

The Big Match Season for 2026 continues in full swing with three games in Colombo, Jaffna and Kandy. The 147th Battle of the Blues, the world’s second oldest rivalry between Royal College and S. Thomas’ College will take place on March 12, 13 and 14 at the SSC, while the 109th Northern Battle of the Golds between St. Patrick’s College and Jaffna College will be held at the Vaddakode Jaffna College ground on the same three days.

The 107th Hill Country Battle of the Blues big match encounter in Kandy between Trinity College and St. Anthony’s College, will be played at the Asgiriya cricket ground on March 12, 13 and 14.

The Super 8s stage of the SLC Major League Cricket Tournament continues with four games over the weekend, while the final week’s games of the Super 8 stage of the FSL Champions League 2025/26 football tournament will take place this weekend, deciding the ultimate champion.

The Dialog Schools Under-19 Rugby Knockout Championship 2026, for the President’s Trophy, will continue with the remainder of pre-quarter-final games at various venues across Colombo.
