Star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been withdrawn from the World Cup squad as he is still in the process of recovering. Dushan Hemantha replaces him in the 15-man squad. Chamika Karunaratne will be the traveling reserve.
He is recovering from a grade III hamstring tear that needs at least 6-8 weeks of recovery.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee selected the following 15-member squad to take part in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be held in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023.
The team will leave for India this evening (26th September 2023).

Wanindu Hasaranga has not been included in the 15-member squad as the player is still in the process of recovering from an injury. His recovery will be monitored, and if he is declared fit to play, he will be considered as a replacement in the event of an injury to a squad member during the tournament.
