The Nestlé-IAAF Kids Athletics Programme, launched in March 2015 in Sri Lanka, conducted the Western Province finals on November 2 and 3 at the St. Peter’s College ground in Bambalapitiya. Nearly 200 schools across 11 zones competed for the Provincial title with the participation of over 2,000 students vying to excel in physical activities conducted by the Ministry of Education with the support of the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka. The results of the Western Province finals: Grade 3 (Girls): 1. Bellana Primary School Horana, 2. Kottawa Dharmapala Vidyalaya, 3. Bandaragama Central Grade 3 (Boys): 1. Jayawardanapura Model Boys School, 2. Sumanajothi Primary School Horana, 3. Medankara MV Horana Grade 4 (Girls): 1. Sumanajothi BV Horana, 2. Oruwala Primary School Jayawardanapura, 3. Reggie Ranatunga Primary School Minuwangoda Grade 4 (Boys): 1. Sumanajothi Primary School Horana, 2. Model Boys School Malabe, 3. Kulupana Taxila Primary School Horana Grade 5 (Girls): 1. Sumanajothi Primary School, 2. Bulathsinhala Primary School, 3. Oruwala Primary School Grade 5 (Boys): 1. MDH Jayawardana Primary School, 2. Taxila Primary School Horana, 3. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
