For the first time the State Services Athletic Meet will be held outside the main city as this year’s meet is scheduled to be held in Kandy at the Bogambara Grounds on September 4 and 5. The meet will be held in nine age categories for open and amateur men and women – 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and over 60s. Only employees and pensioners of state sector departments and ministries are eligible to take part in the meet. Entries should be submitted before August 15 addressed to the Secretary Athletics, Sri Lanka State Service Sports Society, 2/12-2/16, Polhengoda Road in Narahenpita.
