St. Sylvester's College, who were in a sorry situation at one stage on day one, ended on 228 as this total provided far beyond the capabilities of the Vidyartha College batsmen who were rolled over for 146 in the 61st Big Match played at Pallekelle on Saturday (9).
Nishantha Indrajith’s unbeaten 49 was the second highest score for the Sylvestrians, Wijetilleke and Ishan Sangeeth were the chief wicket-takers.
Medunaka Wijetilleke, Vidyartha's most consistent all-rounder, top scored with 67. He had 11 fours and a six in his knock.
Kanishka Jayasekera (3), Pasan Hettiarachchi(3) and Husindu Nissanka (2) were the wicket takers.
Kevin Nimshan, a former Vidyartha player, continued to show his fondness for Vidyartha bowling, by scoring a brisk 74 in the second innings.
Pasan Hettiarachchi showed off his batting prowess with 55.
