The third day’s proceedings of the 91st ABA Men’s and Women’s Nationals Boxing Championships being held at the Royal Sports Arena saw two clusters from MAS Holdings in the lead on Saturday (3).
In the men’s category MAS Simline Pannala who ended up as the third best last year have so far succeeded to qualify to four of the ten semi-final bouts while in the women’s category defending champion MAS Unichela Panadura too have succeeded to qualify to four semi-finals.
The 91st ABA Men’s and Women’s Nationals Boxing Championships conducted by the Amateur Boxing Association of Sri Lanka is being contested by 25 boxing clubs around the island with 51 pugilists in the fray in the men’s category and 31 in the women’s category.
The defending champions are Army BC while Navy BC ended up in the second spot.
On Sunday (3) the semi-finals are scheduled to be held from 3.00pm and the finals are slotted to be held on Monday (5) from 3.00pm onwards.
