Cricket: Injured Chandimal doubtful for Asia Cup, Dananjaya to miss few games
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced that two of the players named in the 16-man squad for Asia Cup 2018 -- Dinesh Chandimal and Akila Dananjaya -- are facing different situations prior to the regional competition.
"Dinesh Chandimal has sustained a broken finger; during a match in the concluded SLC T20 League 2018. Chandimal’s condition will be reassessed by a medical specialist during this week.
His participation in the Asia Cup will be decided based on the medical report," an SLC media release stated.
On Akila Dananjaya, he is set to miss the team flight due to a personal reason.
"Akila Dananjaya will not travel with the team for the Asia Cup in UAE on September 11, as he has to attend a family matter (Birth of his first child). He is expected to join the team, later in the tour."
