Vintage CC, the 2017 runners-up, in the absence of 2017 winners Sebastianites, will go out favourites in the 6th Lanka Cavaliers Veterans Inter-Club Cricket 6s 2018, to be held on Sunday (26) at the Bloomfield grounds in Reid Avenue, commencing 8.30am.
The other eight teams participating in the tournament are host, Lanka Cavaliers, MCA, Colombo Masters, Old Thurstanites, Olcott Schools Veterans, Old Parlians, Old Peterites along with two newcomers Kotte Old Thomians and Galle Veterans.
A team will comprise five Over (O)-45 players and one O-50 player.
Firstly, the tournament will be conducted on a League basis (10 teams pooled into 3 Groups) and secondly, on a Knockout, according to the International Hong Kong '6s' format.
The official sponsorship hand-over cum media conference was held on Friday (17) at 6.30pm at the Bloomfield Pavilion lounge.
The Organising Committee comprised Sirosha Gunatillake (Chairman), Nevil Noyhar (Secretary), Riaz Farouk, Ravi Subasinghe, Pemlal Fernando and T.H. Wijewardena.
At the 2017 tournament played at De Soysa Park, Moratuwa Sebastianites scored a last-ball win over Vintage CC.
