Laos beat Sri Lanka by 2 goals to 1 in their opening match of the AFC Solidarity Cup Football Championship match played at the Sarawak Negeri International ground in Malaysia on Thursday (3).
Despite the strong playing styles by both teams which led a scoreless end to the halftime, Laos managed to go past the Sri Lanka defence and score through a goal off Movudka Sovukwath in the 57th minute.
Laos scored their second goal in the 82nd minute off Kahampani Sonthanlai.
After constant attacks Mohamed Ashkoor scored Sri Lanka's solitary goal in the latter stage of the game.
Sri Lanka will take on Mongolia in their second match on Sunday (6).
