Parliamentarian Navin Dissanayake was appointed as the Minister of Sports in addition to his portfolio of Minister of Tourism. Navin is the a son of the late Minister Gamini Dissanayake who was instrumental in obtaining Test cricket status to Sri Lanka in 1981.
