Special Task Force (STF) and military persoonel have been deployed in Moolai area of Vaddukottai, Jaffna following tension erupted due to clash between two groups in the area.
Police opened fire to bring the situation under control when the groups, armed with sharp weapons tried to attack passengers on the road. At least two motorbikes were burned over the incident. Two individuals were also taken into custody.
Jaffna police said that with STF and military personnel deployed, police teams have been deployed to ensure normalcy in the area. (News by N. Lohathayalan)
