The Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Netball Federation pruned down the number of players of the senior netball squad to 30 at the selection trial held in Torrington on Saturday (13).
The Sri Lanka netball team is scheduled to take part in the 10th Asian Senior Netball Championship which will be held from July 30 to August 7 in Thailand.
The head of Sri Lanka Netball Federation, Yasa Ramachandra, emhpasised that the priority would be win the Asian title as Sri Lanka did at the Asian Youth Netball Championship two months ago in Hong Kong.
The 30 players selected to the national netball squad are Jayathri Upendra (Police), Lakmali Bandara (Navy), Hasini Mendis (Navy), M.D.C. Malkanthi (Air Force), M.P. Buddhini de Silva (Visakha Vidyalaya), Hansani Supamali (Air Force), Malsha Sathsari Rathnayake (Visakha Vidyalaya), Sherine Nugera (Expo Lanka), P.A.U. Madushani (Army), Gayanjali Amarawansha (HNB), T.D.Wattegedara (Air Force), G.L.Anuruddika Kularathne (Police), K.D.N Perera (Air Force), Nishani Ranatunge (Air Force), Ruwini Yatigammana (LB Finance), Hemamala Damayanthi (Army), Rukshala Hapuarachchi (Air Force), Sureka Kumari (Air Force), Nadeesha Udayangani (Army), Dulmini Chathurika (Air Force), Darshika Abewickrama (HNB), Dushani Bandara (Navy), W.P.L. Waidyarathne (Air Force), Viraji Chamarika (Police), Chamari Rathnayake (Navy), Treesha Hansani Wickckramasinghe (Air Force), Nimesha Madushani (Air Force), Gayani Dissanayake (Mahaweli) and Nadee Madushani Fernando (Police).
