CR and FC defeated traditional rivals CH and FC by 66-11 in the second round game of the Dialog Division ‘A’ Inter-Club Rugby League Tournament played at Longdon Place today (30).
CR collected their points from 10 tries and eight conversions as they went on to win the Nizar Hadji Omar Memorial Trophy for the eighth consecutive year after leading the halftime by 33-6.
CH collected their points from an unconverted try and two penalties.
Fullback Prince Chamara posted two tries and made four conversions to contribute 18 points in total while flanker Sasanka Ariyaratne posted two tries.
Prop Kokila Sambandapperuma, winger Mekalanka Pramodha, hooker Mahinda Hettiarachchi, winger Tharinda Ratwatte and scrumhalf Suneth Chathuranga scored a try each for CR.
Ratwatte made four conversions.
For CH, centre Janith Chandimal put over two penalties while No.8 Gemunu Settinayake scored the solitary unconverted try.
