Army Sports Club staged a gallant brand of play to outplay Air Force Sports Club by 24-13 in a second round match of the Dialog Division ‘A’ League Rugby Tournament played at Racecourse ground in Colombo on Friday (30). Army took the control of the game from the start and led the halftime by 24-8. They scored from four tries and two conversions. Air Force scored from two unconverted tries and a penalty.
Mannar residents vowed to continue their protest against proposed wind power projects on the main island despite they came under attack on Friday night (26) when they tried to stop transportation of equipments following Presidential directive to go ahead with the project.
