Royal College brought an end to their traditional rivals S. Thomas’ College dominance as they regained the Ranil Dias Trophy after a lapse of four years by winning the overall championship at the annual Sailing Regatta worked off at the Ceylon Motor Yacht Club in the Bolgoda Lake on Saturday (11).
Royal also had the satisfaction of winning the Ray Wijewardene Challenge trophy as they emerged overall champions in the Laser Class ‘A’ event.
The winning Royal Team was Coached by Devin Gunawardene while Nadine de Rosairo was in charge of the S. Thomas’ Team.
The meet was jointly organised by Royal College and S. Thomas’ College.
Asian Games Silver Medallist Ekandra Edirisinghe was the Chief Guest.
