Sri Lanka will host the second South Asian Sepaktakraw Federation Championship at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo from January 12.
The championship will draw men's and women's teams from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and hosts Sri Lanka as the Amateur Sepaktakraw Association of Sri Lanka (ASASL) takes the whole responsibility of conducting the tournament with the assistance of the Ministry of Sports.
“The ASASL has been working round the clock to raise the required funds of Rs. 3,950,000/- to stage the championship successfully and had formed various committees to oversee the booking of a suitable indoor facility hotel accommodation, transport, technical staff, training of liaison officers for participating teams, training of the national men and women teams etc,” stated Nizam Hajireen, the President of ASASL.
Sri Lanka was selected to host the event at the second annual general meeting of the South Asian Sepaktakraw Federation held in Hyderabad, India in mid June.
