Cricket Australia (CA) appointed Aaron Finch as the captain of the Australia Twenty20 team for the three-match series against Sri Lanka beginning from February 17.
However CA is yet to confirm Australia's final squad, which will definitely be named sans big names such as regular skipper Steven Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh and Usman Khawaja.
The three-match Twenty20 series will kick off at Melbourne on February 17 followed by the remaining games at Geelong and Adelaide on February 19 and 22 respectively.
With the three-match Test tour against India set to kick off from February 23 in India, Australia will run without some of their best players against the three T20s against Sri Lanka.
In addition Justin Langer take the role as the Acting Head Coach for the Sri Lanka series, with Ricky Ponting and Jason Gillespie as his assistants.
