Super T20: Troopers overcome Commandos by 6 wickets

Hambantota Troopers beat Colombo Commandos by 6 wickets in the third game of the SLC Super Twenty20 Championship played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo a short while ago today (27).

Put into bat first, the Commandos raked up 162-8 and the Troopers reached the required target with 11 deliveries to spare. 

Seekkuge Prasanna, playing an allround role took two wickets and returned to slam 40 off 21 deliveries inclusive of three fours and three sixes, to see his side reach the winning post. 

Later on Sandun Weerakkody joined in with a knock of 36 off 24 balls with three fours and two sixes. 

The top scorer for the winners was Ashan Priyanjan, who took a wicket with his spin bowling before hitting 41 off 34 deliveries. 

Priyanjan hit three fours and a six. 

Jehan Mubarak, continuing his form, hit 23 off 17 deliveries with three fours while Upul Indrasiri and Shaminda Eranga collected two wickets each. 

Identically as he recorded yesterday, opener Niroshan Dickwella scored 51 off after just facing 25 deliveries.

His knock included six boundaries and three sixes. 

Shehan Jayasuriya (24) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (23) chipped in with useful knocks.

Prasanna and Thilan Thushara claimed two wickets each while Dilruwan Perera, Binura Ferando and Priyanjan picked a wicket each.
