Fifth seeded player Manish Sureshkumar of India emerged singles champion of the Sri Lanka F3 Futures Tennis Championship when he recorded a two set to one over sixth seeded Vladyslav Orlov of Ukraine in the three set encounter of the final played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo on Saturday (30).
Manish had to take out all the tricks out of the bag in the first set before Vladyslav bounced back with a comfortable win but Manish settled down and took things under control as he bagged the deciding third set with ease.
Meanwhile the Thailand pair of Jirat Navasirisomboon and Chanchai Sookton-Eng coasted to an easy two sets to nil win over the Indian pair of Mayru Jayaprakash and Manish Sureshkumar who missed out on a double to clinch the doubles title.
Results of finals:
Singles: Manish Sureshkumar (India) beat Vladyslav Orlov (Ukraine) 2-1 (7/6(6), 0/6, 6/1).
Doubles: Jirat Navasirisomboon/Chanchai Sookton-Eng (Thailand) beat Mohit Mayru Jayaprakash/ Manish Sureshkumar (India) 2-0 (6/2, 6/4).
