Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah, has passed away at the age of 86, according to the royal court.
He has been leading the nation for three years, succeeding his half-brother.
Sheikh Nawaf was admitted to the hospital in late November due to an unspecified illness.
