Four individuals of a same family have been arrested following the death of a nine-year old boy who was beaten to death in Mulhouse, France
Police told local media that the boy had refused to do his homework and therefore was hit with a broom handle.
It is reported that the victim's elder brother, sister and stepsister were all present at the time of the incident.
The mother of the victim has also been arrested although she was not there at the time of the incident. However, reports say that she was aware of what was going on.
Bruises were discovered on the boy's body, particularly on his feet, according to Alsace website DNA.
Although the boy had suffered a cardiac arrest, pathologists said the cause of death had been the blows he had suffered, DNA reported.
