Denon DJ Championship

Denon DJ Championship, the biggest DJ competition of the country, will come alive with Denon, the professional DJ equipment, from May 1 through to June. The Denon DJ Championship will consist of two categories- Professional and Amateur. The criteria for the professional category three to four years experience in the field of DJing and tale and the overall judging criteria divided into the categorize such technicality (Sound quality, knowledge), Creativity (Music, Selection) Crowd control, Voice Skills), Personality stage presence, dress code and level confidence.

The principal sponsor of the event is Swedish Trading Audio Visual (Pvt.) Limited, the authorized distributor for Denon DJ Products in Sri Lanka. Swedish Trading Audio Visual (Pvt.) Limited is the only company, who can provide a total audio video solution for professional DJs in the country.

Since we provide the professional Equipment for Disc Jockeys, the Company wants to bring the standard of DJing to the professional level. That is why we organized this competition' said Sanjay Corera, the Showroom manager of Swedish Trading Audio Visual (Pvt.) Limited, who is the man behind the hard work behind the DJ Competition.

'There are over 250 applicants lined up for the forth coming event. This shows the potential and the growing interest of the industry' he added. The veterans and the pioneers in the industry DJ Harpo Gunaratne and DJ Gerry Jayasinghe will be lending their helping hand to this event and they will brief all the contestants on every aspect of the DJing and The winner of the Denon DJ Championship will get a chance to go to Bangkok to compete in the Regional DJ competition in Thailand, which will be held from June 9 to 20.

Denon DJ Championship organised by the Swedish Trading Audio Visual (Pvt.) Limited will be judged by an elite panel of judges. This will be a realization of dreams for many youngsters, who aspire to be disc jockeys but lack the funds and the knowledge regarding this field which is not given due recognition in Sri Lanka.

A disc jockey is considered indispensable in most events such as parties, socials, beat shows, private functions such as wedding etc. Y-FM, one of the popular youth radio channels, will be the official radio sponsor of the event

There will be four workshops and open forum discussion organised by Y FM in the main cities Colombo, Kanday, Galle and Negombo. The DJ Champion will be the lucky recipient of a contract offered by Y FM, DJ
