Daytime robber intimidates neighbours

An unidentified man broke into the homes of two neighbours in Batadombagahawatte, Maharagama, last week, in broad daylight and, after threatening and frightening the occupants, made off with money amounting to Rs. 200,000, as well as jewellery.

According to A. K. Siriwardena and Kapila Ekanayake. the chief occupants of the two houses, the man had threatened the parents, scared off the children and ransacked almirahs and cupboards in search of money and valuables.

The Maharagama Police are investigatxing.
