Duminda case: OIC ordered to explain

The Wellawatte Police are yet to record a statement from Western Provincial Councillor Duminda Silva, who is alleged to have abducted actress Anarkaili Akarsha.

Meanwhile, the Mount Lavinia Magistrate has ordered the OIC of the Wellawatte Police to appear in court on July 17 in connection with an anticipatory bail application filed by Mr. Silva, who has sought bail to avoid being arrested and detained in connection with the alleged abduction.

Mr. Silva’s counsel, Gaya Jayatillake, made the anticipatory bail application on Mr. Silva’s behalf.
