Kosgoda Garden Beach
A Paradise on the Turtle Beach

Garden Beach, established in late 2005, is a small hotel built on modern lines and offers decent mid-range facilities. From the moment you enter the bright reception area, the hotel has a gleaming modern feel.

The sun garden leading to the sea is smart and well tended. The managing director, Mahinda Abeygunawardena, has long experience in the hotel trade and strong links in the local community, and is committed to provide a responsive and well trained staff.

The hotel has an enviable location. It is one of only two hotels on the turtle beach at Kosgoda, where turtles regularly come ashore to lay their eggs. The nearby Kosgoda turtle hatchery, which enables its guests to make responsible, eco friendly night time treks, only a short distance up the beach, to see the turtles at work.

The Garden Beach has ten en-suite rooms with 02 superior rooms on three floors, including two inter-connecting rooms suitable for families, boasting good quality fittings. All have IDD phones, mini bar, A/C, fan and television and balcony with a view of the broad and sandy Kosgoda beach over the garden area.

But it is the two top floor suites that achieve surprising quality for a hotel of this size, which includes a sitting area, master bed room with king sized four posters, a walnut table allows comfortable in-room dining, by candlelight overlooking the sea if you wish.

The Restaurant, which dominates the ground floor of the hotel, has good quality teak and walnut tables and chairs and relies heavily on local produce, providing eastern and western dishes of reliable standard. Conference and meeting facilities can be found in a separate building across a small car park.
