Presidential pardon: CWC still undecided

The Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) is still considering whether it should accept a Presidential pardon granted to its leader Arumugam Thondaman and two others after they were served a six months jail term suspended for three years for contempt of court.

“We are still considering whether to accept the pardon or appeal against the judgment,” CWC National Organiser R. Yogarajan told The Sunday Times.

President Rajapaksa pardoned them hours after the court verdict was issued against Mr. Thondaman, Minister Muttu Sivalingam and Provincial Councillor V. Radhakrishnan.
