‘Hari Apuru Dawasak’ at Elphinstone

Young playwright, Chamika Hathlawaththa's 2008 Best Stage Drama awarded production "Hari Apuru Davasak" will go on boards on October 10 at Elphinstone theatre, Colombo.

The play won seven awards including Best Production, Best Script, Best Actress, Best Music, Lighting, Best Choreography and Best Costumes at the State Drama Festival - 2008. Played by a young and talented cast, Dhampapriya Dias, Anuradha Perera, Sanjewa Disanayaka, Madushan Chathuranga, Indika Donald an S. I. Samarakkody, the drama will have two shows at 3.30 and 6.45 p.m.

Prior to 3.30 pm show a workshop will be conducted for A/L and O/L students from 2 p.m. to 3p.m. and this is to educate the students on the importance of theatre and drama.

The musical score of "Hari Apuru Davasak" is by Theja Buddika and make up by Priyantha Sirikumara and costume and set designer is Pradeep Chandrasiri. The play is organized by Jude Srimal.
